  • It has a ‘Digital answering machine’ capability to enhance usability.
  • It stores 50 names and numbers in the phone book directory.
  • Backlight display and the illuminated keypad buttons help you to find the phone even in the dark.
  • It uses ‘DECT 6.0 Digital Technology’ for delivering the best sound quality.
  • The speakerphone in the base unit makes it easy to talk without using the handset.
  • The built-in equalizer helps to provide a clear sound with HD quality. (we could not verify it)
  • It is equipped with a caller ID function that helps you to know who is calling without even lifting the phone.

Cons:

  • The batteries are made in China. Some of the users find it difficult to match the exact replacement batteries after the original batteries are worn off.
  • Although it claims of the HD sound quality, some of the users complain about the voice issues.
  • The recorded messages are sometimes not clear when you keep the unit on high volume.
  • Although the buttons are illuminated, the power button is not illuminated, this makes it difficult to find the unit in the dark.
  • It does not have a headset jack on each handset. It makes it a little difficult to hold the phone with the speaker near your ears when you are multitasking.

Having analyzed the above, let us now discuss the features in detail.

Pros:

  • If you have multiple floors in a house or a house consisting of many rooms then it becomes difficult to transfer the phone from one room to another.

With VTech cordless phones, you can add twelve different phones and keep each unit on a different floor.

You can have a total of twelve cordless handsets and two cordless headsets. It uses LS6405 accessory handset and IS6100 headset.

  • It has a facility of ‘digital answering machine’. This means that in case you are pretty occupied with some work you can leave a message or even record the messages from different callers.

There is an option to delete the unwanted messages from the unit so that you can free up the memory space.

  • The phone book directory is tailor-made to store 50 numbers. We could not ascertain whether the contact list can be imported from another phone or you need to enter it manually.
  • The buttons light up whenever you make a call or when someone calls you.

This backlight facility might not be useful to you during the day but at night, it certainly helps when you are able to find the phone when it rings.

This feature is especially useful if you are in a habit of keeping the handset anywhere in the room and are unable to locate it when someone calls.

  • It uses ‘DECT 6.0 Digital Technology’ for delivering the best sound quality. Many verified users have commented that they do not find any issues with voice clarity when they use the units on different floors.
  • The speakerphone in the base unit makes it easy to talk without using the handset. When you purchase you get two units with a handset and one unit of a cordless phone. The speakerphone is installed in the base unit.

  • The built-in equalizer helps to provide a clear sound with HD quality. We do not see any problem with it when it is specified in the manual itself that it uses DECT technology for voice.

Still, we could not verify this fact and found some verified users on Amazon who do not find the voice quality to be perfect and there are some users who have opined that the voice clarity is excellent.

In our opinion, it can be due to the different kinds of material used inside the house or just a problem of ‘range’.

  • It is equipped with a ‘caller ID function’ that helps you to know who is calling without even lifting the phone.

Cons:

  • The batteries are made in China. Some of the users find it difficult to match the exact replacement batteries after the original batteries are worn off.

In our opinion, you should think about replacement batteries first while purchasing this unit.

  • Although it claims of the HD sound quality, some of the users complain about the voice issues.

The recorded messages are sometimes not clear when you keep the unit on high volume. Some users find that the pronunciations of the recorded messages are not clear.

  • Although the buttons are illuminated, the power button is not illuminated, this makes it difficult to find the unit in the dark.

This is especially the fact to be considered if you are purchasing the phone for elderly people. They find it difficult to locate the unit.

  • It does not have a headset jack on each handset. It makes it a little difficult to hold the phone with the speaker near your ears when you are multitasking.

In our opinion, this drawback can be removed if you purchase multiple cordless handsets in addition to the ones provided by the manufacturer.

Conclusion:

After looking to all the facilities that VTech cordless phone offers like the answering machine, ability to add more phones and customize it for your personal use, the ability to set up true caller to hear who is calling instead of lifting the phone to see it every time, are all great features for opting for VTech.

On the flip side, we feel that battery issues need to be clear before-hand prior to purchasing the product and also you need to check with the manufacturer regarding the range issues which you might have because of the different material used in the house.

Having said this, we wish to cut off! We mean we are ending our review with the hope that it will help you in making a purchasing decision.

Do let us know in the comments your concerns about the product if any. We will be glad to incorporate the same in our review.
